Good stuff all around...

So things are finally starting to come together. I booked a moving company today. Actually, there are the only ones to give me a reasonable price for ther amount of stuff I'm taking. They can charge a lot less than other companies because they do regular trips to the mainland. The others don't, so you end up footing a good portion of the truck rental... which can be killer!

So I'm so glad that's done! (understatement!) One less stress out of the way.

So you might ask how I, a poor student, can afford to pay fora moving company. Glad you asked! Yesterday, I got my bursary from Camosun. Every semester, those students considered in financial need can apply for internal foundation bursaries. Last year I got one for $200.00... this year... get this!!!!.... I got $750.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you beleive it? I was shocked!

So my bank account is doing very well, thank you!

So now I just have to wait until my tax refund comes in and then I'll be sitting pretty!

As for everything else... it's pretty much "hurry up and wait"!

YOU"VE GOT TO TRY THIS!!!!

I got this link from my friend Sarah. Turn on your speakers and click on the link.

Photos from the past weekend...

These were taken in Vancouver. The water view and cherry tree photos are from Pacific Ave near the beach and the birds are from Stanley park at Lost Lagoon. Enjoy!

Isn't this cool? Until then I had never seen the fruit/seeds from a hardy palm tree! Posted by Hello

WestCoast Winter Wonderland...

Just to prove to others that we do occaisionally have experience with "real" winter weather, these photos are ones I took in during the January snow blitz that we had. And since our street is a tiny side street, it took days for the snow plough to find us. By the time it finally did, the snow on the road had become a wonderful thick layer of compressed ice. Yay! :)

I'm on my way...

Leaving for Vancouver tomorrow. Going to look at apartments for the second and hopefully last time. If all goes well, we'll find a place that we like and is available for the 15th, then maybe we'll be able to sign a lease. Otherwise, we'll have to wait till April 1st and that's cutting it a little closer than we would like. So wish us luck! :)

Procrastination is my middle name...

Studying... sleeping... I really should be doing one or the other. As long as it's not both!

But I can't seem to get studying and I can't seem to leave my computer alone long enough to make my bed, so I can sleep. Focus, Lindsay... Focus!

Well rested but not for long...

Well...I had a fabulous time in Calgary! Five wonderful days where I didn't have to be anywhere (except for my flights of course) or do anything. Every night was a slumber party and my friend
Ang(ela) and I stayed up like pretty much every night. Did lots of shopping (got an awesome new suit) and had lunch in the revolving restuarannt in the Clagary Tower... 512 meters up in the air. It was pretty amazing.

Have to say that the flight there was probably most amazing thing about the trip. I pretty much had my face up against the window taking in the view. We convinced that we have one of the most incredible provinces. Don't you agree?

The only downside to the trip is that I had to come back! I probably could have stayed another two days, easy. But I had school and work. I also had a paper due yesterday that I procrstinated so much on, that I finished it at 12 midnight on Wednesday! Yeah... I don't usually do that but I've been so overwhelmed by school, work, moving and getting a co-op position, that I've been kind of stuck and haven't had a tonne of motivation as of late.

However, time contraints are pushing me to get my ass in gear and get stuff done. Have I mentioned that I'm moving soon? As in April 27th, soon? Yeah. Just a little craziness from that. But as mine and Claire's motto says:

Everything will be okay in the end... if it's not okay.. it's not the end!
